Before You Visit a Service Center

Finding a service center is easy, but choosing the right one is important. Because the search engines may sometimes list discontinued or unauthorized repair shops in place of genuine service centers. Visiting an unauthorized repair shop or permanently closed service center can give you so much pain and frustration. Getting your product repair at those places may affect warranty eligibility or result in non-genuine spare parts being used.

• Bill (Invoice): Carry a digital or printed invoice for warranty verification.
• Data Backup: Take a complete backup of your device before visiting the service center.
• Unlocked Device: If the device is locked, carry valid identity proof if required.

In-Warranty vs Out-of-Warranty Repairs

In-Warranty: Generally, Xiaomi offers a 12-month warranty on smartphones, excluding batteries and accessories (usually having six months warranty). If your device is within warranty and has no physical or liquid damage, then labour charges and parts replaced during repair may be covered under the warranty. You may not have to pay anything for the repair. But it totally depends on the type of issue and the warranty terms.

Out-of-Warranty: If the warranty period of your Xiaomi product has expired or the device shows physical or liquid damage, then the service charges and spare part replacement costs may apply. Sometimes a minor scratch or physical damage to the product can void the warranty. So the users are advised to request an estimated repair cost before proceeding for our of warranty repairs.
